The Unconscious

The capacity of the conscious mind - the number of things I can think about at once - is small. In contrast, the capacity of the unconscious mind is vast. One of the most important things I do in practicing is getting as many things as possible out of the conscious mind and into the unconscious mind. These are the things I can do without even thinking about it. This leaves my mind clearer when I play. Ideally, I’d like my mind to be empty when I play.
